Urban Outfitters, the multinational lifestyle retail company that started out from the USA has in the last few years become one of Europe’s favourite brand. The brand’s hip and trendy clothing collections cater well to the taste of the British youth.
While deciding on the locations, it was an important aspect for us to avoid the more crowded popular touristy areas, but still find locations that represent the typical urban street style of a large city in a way that is different to Urban Outfitters’ typical London atmosphere.
Staying away from the touristy areas, the locations represented the brand’s typical urban street style
We are constantly working on broadening the range of styles that we can offer in our location database. In the last few years, it has become our aim to present next to Budapest’s well-known, classically beautiful, popular film and photography locations, a face of the city that has countless cool and edgy locations also to offer. This is why lately we have started to scout locations based on style concepts, which is how we created our thematic location selections: Sporty Urban Life, Car Shoots, Spy Stories. The Sporty Urban Life selection proved to be the perfect resource for us to be able to present locations for Urban Outfitters’ SS19 campaign. This project gave us confirmation that there is a demand for scouting nonconventional locations and that it is worth daring to distance from classically conventional beautiful styles.
During the three days long shoot, we took photos in many various locations, like for example in underground stations in the outskirts, in rundown supermarket parking lots, abandoned narrow streets, as well as an old hotel and in the spaces of a university building built in the 70s. The photographs were taken by the Italian photographer Paolo Zerbini.
We always ensure the most suitable locations for our projects and thanks to our extensive location database we are able to satisfy unusual location needs without difficulty. With the three days long Urban Outfitters photoshoot, Budapest proved what diversity and special atmosphere it has to offer, as well as what a huge potential lies in even its less conventional film and photo shooting locations.
