Austrian lakes in winter are an exceptional sight since their famously peaceful and crystal clear water is surrounded by dramatic mountains that become coated in snow. This valley scenery features timeless, untouched nature surrounding the lakes, apart from a few peers and atmospheric wooden huts. Compared to the mountain peaks, snow here is present for a shorter time, because valleys and lakes are located at lower altitudes, resulting in snow generally falling at the beginning of December and lasting until the end of March. Still, throughout the winter months productions can rely on continuous icy conditions. Regardless of these locations’ ruralness, Austria’s road system provides easy and fast access from the surrounding towns and cities, enabling smooth production.
