Transport in Budapest
Location Library Hungary
Budapest is a truly colorful city where all means of transport can be found. Besides its yellow trams and red and blue buses, the city features well preserved train stations which are over 100 years old, a unique funicular situated in the heart of the city, as well as four metro lines built during different eras in different styles - including the second oldest underground railway in the world, complete with ornate, tiled stations and underpasses. Another line is typical of the 70s, with bright colours and retro plastic chairs. The latest metro line only opened a few years ago, and its award winning design is truly astonishing; huge metal elecutalor halls, top design chairs and lighting, as well as psychedelic mosaics.
