As the history of universities in Hungary goes back to the 14th century, the country offers many beautiful university buildings built in different styles, such as immense Neo-classical or eclectic Art-nouveau. Many of them are home to grand, historic buildings with ornate interiors sitting in charming, park-like campuses with ornate arcades, while others have high-tech auditoriums situated amongst contemporary buildings. Also, typical for Hungary, there are monumental, turn-of-the-century buildings in which one can find gems of another era, for example Soviet lecture rooms. There are also university buildings overlooking Budapest’s emblematic panorama of the river Danube.
