The first furniture department store to open in Socialist Hungary in the 1960s, closed its doors during the winter of 2002. Now, the only light in the nearly 70 year old building is the sunshine that falls into the central hall from the halo-like roof window above it. The eerie atmosphere of discolored light filtering into the hall surrounded by countless rooms branching outwards impregnates every floor of the 3 story high cement structure. The circular hall of the dystopian building is a unique shooting location either for a spy movie interrogation scene, a shoot-out or an uplifting speech to a crowd.
