Socialist Circle Hall
Location Library Hungary
The first furniture department store in Socialist Hungary, which opened in the 1960s, closed its doors in the winter of 2002. Today, the only light in the nearly 70-year-old building comes from the sun streaming through a halo-like roof window above the central hall. The eerie atmosphere, with discolored light filtering into the hall and countless rooms extending outward, permeates every floor of the three-story cement structure. The circular hall of this dystopian setting offers a unique shooting location, perfect for a spy movie interrogation, a dramatic shoot-out, or an inspiring speech to a crowd.
