Urban sports courts may not be part of the professional sports infrastructure, but they reflect the everyday, street-level side of Olympic sports – making them highly popular locations for film and photo shoots. Their visuals and atmosphere often align not only with the brand image of sports equipment companies but also with the aesthetic of many fashion labels. In many cases, their appeal lies less in the courts themselves and more in the urban environments surrounding them – whether it's a rugged, rough vibe of basketball court set among concrete apartment blocks or a skatepark, the pristine condition of a private school’s outdoor field, or the calm of a serene running track in a public park. Budapest offers a wide variety of such outdoor sports locations, as clearly demonstrated by the fact that in 2019, the Hungarian capital was chosen to host the World Urban Games, an international event dedicated to street sports.
